How to wash satin bedding so that it lasts for years?

Satin cotton bedding is synonymous with luxury and sleeping comfort. However, in order for it to retain its properties - softness, shine and durability - it must be properly cared for. Here is a proven method of washing satin bedding that will allow you to enjoy it for many years.
1. Washing temperature – only 40°C
Cotton satin bedding should be washed at a maximum temperature of 40°C.
Why? Because the delicate satin weave may be damaged at higher temperatures. Washing at 60°C or 90°C is reserved for synthetic or industrial fabrics.
2. Do not use bleach or strong detergents
Instead, choose a mild detergent for colored fabrics. Avoid powders containing bleach - they can destroy cotton fibers and make the bedding lose its color and softness.
3. Wash inside out – always
We recommend always wash bed linen inside out and fastened (with a zipper or buttons).
This will help you avoid material damage and abrasions from the washing machine drum.
4. Drying - preferably in the air
If possible, dry the bedding naturally by spreading it on a dryer.
Avoid the tumble dryer, which may cause the satin to shrink and become dull.
5. Should I iron? Yes, but carefully
Sateen cotton is naturally smooth, so ironing is usually not necessary. However, if you want to do this, use an iron at a low temperature, preferably with a thin cotton cloth.
